How to Sync All Your Calendars Onto One Smartphone

It?s a simple request: I just want my online calendars to sync with my smartphone? is that too much to ask? It took some initial research and finesse, but I?ve discovered the best ways to get your Yahoo and Google calendars to appear on either an Android or Apple IOS mobile device.

Google Calendar on Android Phone
When you first set up your Android phone, you had to create or enter your Google account info, so the phone already has the login info for your Google Calendar. Now you can go to your phone?s Settings, choose Accounts, click the Google account and then make sure ?Sync Calendar? is checked. Then go to the Calendar App on your Android phone and it should be there.

For multiple calendars, hit the Settings button and then Calendars to customize which Google calendars you see.

Yahoo Calendar on Android Phone
Although it seems like it should be easy to add the Yahoo Calendar to your Android, I never got mine to sync. Theoretically, you would open the Android calendar on your phone, hit the Settings option, and Add Account. But depending on the flavor of Android I tried, I either couldn?t add a Yahoo account or when I did, it didn?t sync. It could just be me, but I found a lot of people online with the same issue. So I tried one of the most recommended apps to solve the problem ? Smoothsync for Yahoo. It costs just under three dollars, and once you install it, you can sync all your Yahoo calendars into the native Android calendar. Ah, sweet relief.

Yahoo Calendar on iPhone
On your IOS device, hit Settings. If you haven?t added your Yahoo Account yet, do so by going to Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Choose ?Add Account.? Once you?ve input your Yahoo login info, the next screen gives you the option to Sync Mail, Contacts, and Calendars. Make sure calendars is on. Hit the Home button, open the IOS calendar. Hit the Calendars button on the top corner and you will see all your calendars listed under Yahoo. If you only have one Yahoo calendar, make sure you check to have it show in your IOS Cal. Also, many people have multiple Yahoo calendars: a family calendar, a work calendar, a soccer team calendar for the kids, and a personal calendar. You can customize which of these Yahoo Calendars show up by checking or unchecking them in this screen.

Google Calendar on iPhone
It?s a little more complicated, but you can also put a Google or Gmail calendar on the iPhone. Here?s how:

If you only have your one personal Google calendar to sync, you do things the same way as with Yahoo: Go to Settings on your IOS device, add your Google account (if you haven?t done so yet) by going to Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Choose ?Add Account.?

Once you?ve input your Google login info, the next screen gives you the option to Sync Mail, Contacts, and Calendars. Make sure Calendars is on. Hit the Home button, then open the IOS calendar. Hit the Calendars button on the top corner and you will see your calendar listed under Google. You can track those Google dates in the IOS calendar and multiple Yahoo calendars at the same time.

But if you want multiple Google calendars, you need an app for that. Google does let you do this through their mobile site, but that?s basically just a website without the power of notifications and all the extras you like from your calendars. So I suggest getting the CalenMob app. It?s free with ads or $5 ad-free. It syncs all your Google calendars to the app (not the native IOS calendar) and adds in notification options, SMS functions and email alert options. It also syncs simultaneously to your Yahoo calendars.

Imran Khan all praise for centurion MS Dhoni ? Cricket News Update

Former Pakistan captain Imran Khan on Sunday hailed Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni?s unbeaten 113 against Pakistan in the first ODI at Chennai as one of the best knocks played under pressure.

After putting the hosts into bat in the unfavourable overcast conditions, Pakistan?s southpaw seamer Junaid Khan scythed through the Indian top order, to leave the home side reeling at 29 for 5 inside the first ten overs of the match.

With half of the team back in the dugout, India were desperate for a big partnership and that?s when the home skipper Mehendra Singh Dhoni showed some initiative. Considering the situation, Dhoni started his innings in an extremely cautious way, taking almost 90 deliveries to reach the 50-run mark, hitting only two fours and one six.

The wicketkeeper batsman, however, displayed his array of attacking strokes in the latter half of his innings, finishing unbeaten on 113 off 125 balls, hitting seven muscular fours and three lofty sixes. The Indian skipper shared valuable stands of 73 and 125 runs with Suresh Raina (43) and R Ashwin (31 not out) for the sixth and seventh wicket respectively, taking the side to a respectable total of 227 for 5.

The tally, however, proved to be insufficient as Nasir Jamshed (101*) and Younis Khan (58) comfortably took Pakistan home in the penultimate over, with six wickets to spare.

"I think he played really well and in fact it was an exceptional innings under pressure. But for his knock, this match would have been over in two-three hours," said Imran Khan, the 1992 world cup winning captain of Pakistan. "Under the circumstances, this was one of the best innings," he added further.

The cricketer turned politician also had a word of praise for rookie Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, saying, "I think he has the ability to swing the ball and he has done well."

"For a fast bowler to do well, you need to have speed in the air and ability to move the ball. Or you have to swing the ball and be able to extract extra bounce," he added further.

The Appeal of Local Savings | MyDealCompass Blog | Business ...

If you seek out daily deals on the popular savings websites, you are likely to have noticed the same digital coupon or savings over and over again. Of course, you will run into a new deal every once in a while. However, they are usually few and far between. This is mainly because the coupons site controls the savings, not the businesses.

myDealCompass provides a completely different approach for both businesses and consumers. It allows you to choose from a plethora of local deals, from a wide variety of different businesses. Additionally, if you join myDealCompass, you can send a message to local businesses and ask them to offer a coupon or savings on the site. The deals that are found on the myDealCompass DealMap do not expire until the business dictates. This means that you can actually use the savings over and over again and share the savings with family and friends, who can also use the savings.

myDealCompass divides the local savings into easy to sort categories, however, deal seekers do not have to use this filter. You can ask any sort of business to join. Then, new, more appropriate categories will be added. This is just another way that myDealCompass adapts to meet its users? needs. The simple fact is that a large variety keeps deal seekers coming back to the site, and it gives businesses a larger customer base for a very small, affordable fee. Deal seekers are not charged for using myDealCompass. Additionally, all the savings can be accessed through your smartphones for easy, on-the-go usability.

The Internet ? Philosophy Prime

It is not proper to speak of ?the internet? as some kind of disembodied entity that will doom or charm us all.

For one thing, even if using the internet a lot in some ways is deleterious, to blame ?the internet? rather than perhaps looking at the behavioral patterns of users too would be pretty silly if not just plain dumb.

Socially conservative idealists seem to always come out of the woodwork when one begins to talk about the internet.? Oh, we?re losing our humanity!? I mean is this a joke?? Did hugging their wives and kids make Nazis nicer people?? Oh the good old days with Genghis Khan and his merry band of bros, their intimate social connections kept them all happier and more civil.? It?s just more Luddite propaganda.? The usual reaction of humanists who are afraid to admit all the nastiness lurking in those people around them.? No we can?t blame people themselves, it?s the internet, it?s technology, it?s ideology, it?s environment.

The internet is among the greatest human achievements to date.? Yes, there is going to be a learning curve.? But don?t worry..people are already hussying the internet up as quickly as they can.? What began as a coolly abstract basic info interface is now more and more about the social, about style, and so on.

The worst thing about these Luddites is their idealization of the ?good old days? of community.? I admit I have from time to time indulged in some of this romanticism myself, but I know that it?s really a bunch of horseshit.? Communities may be places where one finds great support?.if one is ?one of us?.

Communities and intimate social connections are also places one finds extreme conformity, nasty hierarchy, industrial ostracization, malignant conservatism, insidious cruelty, petty control of power and information, the demonization of ?the other?, stunted diversity, and on and on.

In fact, the greatest geniuses in history have often had a tendency towards isolation or extreme selectivity in camaraderie.

It may be that many people just can?t control themselves with all the instant gratification now available.? Just as homo sapiens, creatures of scarcity, overindulged as soon as they had easy food surplus..perhaps porn, vapid entertainment, etc..are the same way.? Maybe it?s just too hard to resist for most of us.

Maybe..to some extent.? We?ll survive, tho.

The internet is not preventing people from having friendly get-togethers or from forming communities.

If anything ? it?s exposing how vapid the old time romanticism about those communities and relationships really is!? With the internet you no longer have to settle for what?s next door.? Yes, that romantic notion of family and marriage and so on may seem less romantic when contrasted with more compelling alternatives.? Shrug.? One can take things for granted?one can also fail to realize the possibilities one is missing out on.

I know that healthy and intimate relationships are irreplaceable.? But I also know that people romanticize the hell out of them and tend to..I believe?.really exaggerate their importance in some instances.(Even as such importance is likely underestimated in other instances)? People always have this notion of a city on a hill, the family on the grassy knoll?but these things are much rarer and less perfect than is typically admitted.? Arts and entertainment have massive biases in favor of idealization of these sorts of things?esp modern instant gratification verse chorus verse sugary moral of the story kind of carp.

What?s truly good is unlikely to ever go completely out of style.
