A 10K running event can be a good way to get yourself accustomed to race running, whether as a beginner or an expert runner. When you have begun to run regularly or in the groove of running a few miles each session, the great way to continue improving your fitness and take it to the next level is to sign up for a 10k. At 6.2 miles, it is not that close to a half marathon but it is the first step for taking on those longer runs if that is your goal or as an all-around great race length in any event. Preparing and training for the 10K is as important as the competition itself.
