When people ask me if I have done all of my Christmas shopping and I tell them that I don't buy into the commercialization of the season, I usually get blank stares, or "Yeah, you're so right" responses. But that doesn't mean I'm against receiving any gifts or spreading a little holiday cheer by doing something as simple as wrapping presents.
Rina of the blog Simply Rins captured the essence of perfectly wrapped gift boxes with this DIY nail art. She uses an astounding 11 nail polish colors to outfit her fingertips, complete with decadent bows. Click through the slideshow below for Rina's step-by-step instructions on how to recreate her holiday manicure.

Step 1
Start by drawing on a line from edge to edge of the nail, as if you're doing a French manicure. This will serve as your guide for painting your boxes.
Step 2
Polish the lower part of your nail from the guide to the tip.
Step 3
Make the center of the ribbon with white acrylic paint.
Step 4
Draw an outline of the ribbon itself with white acrylic paint, making sure it covers the nail width.
Step 5
Fill in the ribbon to make a solid white base.
Step 6
When the white base is completely dry, paint over it in silver using a blotting motion.
Step 7
Outline the ribbon with black acrylic paint to give it details.
Step 8
To finish, seal the nail art with top coat.
